PREP TIPS

These are my real estate photography prep-tips.

Please make sure to have the home ready to be photographed 15 minutes before your session time. If the home is not ready to be photographed, I will need to photograph it the way it is. No exceptions.

  • The photo session could take anywhere between 15 minutes to 30 minutes hour depending on how big the property is. I will be photographing both the inside and outside of your home, including all of the major rooms. I normally do not photograph the garage unless it has special features or you request it. I also do not photograph closets unless they are large walk in closets or you request it.

  • If you have special features of your home that are not obvious, please let me know about these so I can include them in the shoot.

  • Contain pets in the garage or out of sight.

  • Remove all vehicles from driveways and do not park directly in front of the house.

  • Move garbage cans so they cannot be seen from the street.

  • Remove all garden tools including hoses and sprinklers.

  • Mow and rake yard.

  • Sweep driveways, sidewalks and patios.

  • Clear off countertops in kitchen and bathroom areas including shower.

  • Clean any mirrors that me be in the photograph.

  • Clean shower doors and remove items located in shower.

  • Remove photos, notes and papers from the refrigerator.

  • Turn on all interior lights and make sure all light bulbs are functional.

  • Turn ceiling fans and televisions off.

  • De-clutter rooms which may be excessively furnished.

  • Make all beds and tidy bedrooms. Make sure all clothes are hung up, or put out of sight.

  • Remove piles of newspapers and magazines.

  • Tuck all indoor trash cans out of view in a closet or cupboard.

  • Remove pet beds and or dishes from sight.

  • Remove high chairs and or children's toys.

  • Make sure ALL cords are hidden and out of view.

  • Remove pool equipment from eye view.

  • Remove any family photos that may be big enough to be seen in the photographs. Framed images on tables usually can't be seen. (recommendation only)

  • Make sure there is no sign in the yard. It is an HAR violation to display a sign in the photograph.
